Dreamer Boy 02:36
All I want is to run Chasing my old shadows Looking for the end of the road I'm afraid of losing myself I’m afraid to do something wrong who can tell me what I am and what I’ve become? I’m a little dreamer boy Waiting for the sunset I’m a super hero boy But I need you All I want is to run The concrete keeps me too slow the footsteps are far too long You put me out to pasture now My legs are (just) giving way And all that remains Is too far away I’m a little dreamer boy Waiting for the sunset I’m a super hero boy But I need you you empower me I’m a little dreamer boy Waiting for the sunset I’m a super hero boy But I need you

Shine 04:13
you do what is asked of you you do it all good your mood is a roller coaster your intentions are hers you see yourself in the mirror but you don't recognize yourself when you look down it gets dark you want it and you don't want it Chorus: you’ll shine again, brighter than (before) the reason you living is: shine again, brighter than before (the reason) you left. What could be worth enough ? What is the way to get in? You‘re being asked to Do more for them But YOU can’t take it anymore you see yourself in the mirror but you don't recognize yourself when you look down it gets dark you want it and you don't want it

NuuK 03:09
We are fighting for: (a second, second) not to be anymore we do not see it: (goodbye) as to say goodbye and mean it our dearest wish: (is not for sale) re-mains unfulfilled we just have to want (you want it) to-o let it want (We)reaching out the point of nowhere (there’s no return) everything starts so it ends (one way, one way) hope remains constant we don't have enough of it (more more) to understand time as it is And I will cry Because everything that’s beautiful Because everything that’s beautiful Becomes eternal ephemeral Don’t cry And you will cry Because everything that’s beautiful Because everything that’s beautiful Becomes eternal ephemeral And you will cry Because everything that’s beautiful Because everything that’s beautiful Becomes eternal ephemeral Don't cry

Wide Eyes 03:06
My eyes are wide open I know your innermost My tears turn into rivers But they cannot heal your wounds Even if it's late So long as we try Even if we fail, you'll still be there when everyone is gone You, the blue and the green The Birds and trees My eyes are wide open But my hands fail the good nobody wants to hear that We should have understood You, the blue and the green The Birds and trees My eyes are wide open I know your innermost My tears turn into rivers But they cannot heal your wounds Even if it's late So long as we try Even if we fail, you'll still be there when everyone is gone You, the blue and the green The Birds and trees You, the blue and the green The Birds and trees The open field And empty sea

about

Mono Green's debut EP tells us a story about nature ...

Mono Green, two words, combined almost like a first and last name, perfectly representing the artist behind it. A single person, a solo project, a centered vision of musician Fabian Ristau. Green is a vibrant color, the essence of life and not only because of its healing effect on our psyche the color in which we feel unfiltered as a human being. He connects the color with his music and especially with the topics it is about.

Also the last song of his same-titled debut EP "Wide Eyes" lines up with this theme - in "Wide Eyes" the German indie folk artist sings about the fact that nature will outlive us all. It is at the same time a criticism of the fact that no action is taken, although it is clear what needs to be done. And also the reassuring realization that we will not be the last to live on this planet. Nature will continue to exist after us. He also directly dedicates an entire song "MotherN" to nature on his EP, showing us a rather esoteric view of what we do with it. Also underpinned with criticism is the song "NuuK". In this one, Mono Green raises the question of why we humans are so bad at dealing with mortality and whether the desire for an eternal life is really so desirable.

In "Dreamer Boy" he turns his focus a bit inward, to himself and reflects his own personality and his upbringing. The dreamy boy inside him, always thinking big, afraid of the future and of doing something wrong. The song that probably stands out the most in this EP is "Shine". It's a mixture of gloomy and soothing, and the mood it puts us in is right between sorrow and hope. Fitting to the lyrics that address discontent and depression, with the glimpse of hope that after this first very hard time, you can be even happier.

Musically, Mono Green begins his debut EP "Wide Eyes" with a sound that lies more in indie folk. However, with each song he shows the many other facets of his music and adds elements of jazz and pop. The result is music with a very unique character that wonderfully combines the naturalness of folk, the calmness of jazz and the catchiness of pop.
